🕊🤍 On the golden morning of September 6th, 2

🕊🤍 On the golden morning of September 6th, 2025, Chelsea arrived as a bright prelude to our Art & Talk Sickle Cell September gathering. In a beautiful twist of grace, she stepped through the doors as our first guest, even before all organisers of the event gathered, bringing her light into the quiet room.

Mortal Crescents is deeply saddened by the passing of this remarkable soul. We extend our tenderest condolences to Chelsea's family and friends. In this time of sorrow, we pray that God wraps her loved ones with strength.

May Chelsea Vanessa Apolot rest in eternal, radiant peace. Amen. 🕊️

🎮♦️Sickle Cell Conversations & Playing Gene

🎮♦️Sickle Cell Conversations & Playing Gene Dash, an educational game all about sickle cell and hb genotypes, created in collaboration with Arudem ! !

🧬💛Sickle cell is a hereditary blood condition where 2 genes, one from each parent merge and form in a fetus. What does this mean? Two healthy individuals, with absolutely no signs nor symptoms can birth a child with complexities, and experiences excuriating pain.

It is important to note that due to the presence of fetal haemoglobin, a baby may not exhibit symptoms until the age of one or even four. Some however may show signs like jaundice, the yellowing eye whites and skin as early as 6 months or even at birth.

For sickle cell warriors, the body produces crescent shaped or c-shaped red blood cells that clump together, blocking smooth blood flow, which instigates painful crises/attacks.
